Futures for Shared Lives
We specialise in supporting people with additional needs, physical and learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs to live in the community as part of a supportive friends and family household.
We recruit, assess and approve a range of Carers who are willing to share their homes and lives with those adults who cannot live independently. Our Carers provide long term, short term or respite care for adults, similar to providing foster placements for children, and they provide a great alternative to residential care.
We believe in placement choice and offer well-matched, supportive and person-centred, innovative and safe, high-quality homes and Carers who strive to improve the quality of life for those living with them.
Some of our younger adults have been in foster care, others have been living with their birth families and some aim to live independently and require more time to learn the skills to achieve this.
Not only do we provide carefully matched placements but we also support our Shared Lives Carers, provide training and advice on helping the person placed with you to develop life skills and be part of the community as fully as possible.
I find Futures for Shared Lives a very friendly family-run company, they try their utmost to accommodate all my wishes, I can contact them at any time with any concerns I might have, although it is extremely rare that I have any problems with their service"

We believe any transition into adult services should be a smooth and seamless service wherever possible. We offer both training and financial support to families or individuals who offer an adult placement within their own homes.
